Welcome to Friendship Online ![]() Faces, Places and More! Do you have a story about the special experience of exploring a new place with a new friend? Send it (with photos if you have them) to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by September 30th. Dear readers, I hope you are enjoying your first electronic Friendship magazine as much as I have enjoyed preparing it. As the new communications coordinator for Friendship Force International, I’m proud to bring you a new twist on a Friendship Force classic. The first Friendship magazine premiered in May of 1983. The acclaimed journalist Bill Lamkin served as the publication’s editor for 14 years, establishing it as a proud FFI tradition that would be carried forward to the present day. That’s why we call this new edition Volume 28, picking up from where the last print magazine left off. We’re pleased to announce that by restarting the magazine as an online publication, we eliminate all subscription fees. It comes directly to you, without delay, free of charge. With just a click you can share it with all your friends, and they can even subscribe online. It’s available for everyone on the Web, members and non-members alike. Some things are new – you’ll receive a link in your inbox instead of a package in your mailbox – but many elements will remain the same. Each issue will feature a unique exchange story and beautiful photographs to inspire you and inform you of FFI happenings around the world. The News section will keep you up-to-date on important announcements and developments, and you’ll also enjoy each issue’s greeting from FFI President George Brown. In this section you’ll hear from me, your editor, as well as your peers around the world. I’ll be publishing some “Letters to the Editor,” so write to me with your likes, dislikes and ideas about the new online magazine.
I’m very excited to be on the Friendship Force team, and I look forward to hearing from you. In friendship, Jillian Walters |
